Our private cottage is nestled within a large and peaceful garden setting with an orchard, big old trees, many birds and neat little places to relax and just be. It is the perfect place for your own retreat. Take time for yourself or with your loved ones, fuel up with new energy, get inspired or just enjoy.
Whare Ra
Whare Ra means sun house, it gets its name because of the big north facing sun deck and is the perfect romantic get-away for a couple or small family. The cottage offers a big king size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a full size kitchen, a lounge with a smart TV, a big sun deck and an old fashioned outside bath to enjoy a hot bath under the stars. We can put up an extra bed or a cot for a child up to 12 years old
This cottage has been renovated and refurbished in 2025 with lots of love and amazingly crafted details from locally grown woods, created by Corowood (Roger Harwood). It is self-contained with a fully equipped kitchen, four-element stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a BBQ on your private deck. There is also a washing machine in the bathroom for your convenience.

We provide quality cotton linen and towels, bathrobes, beach towels, biodegradable bath salt, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, body moisturiser, organic loose leave teas, coffee and sugar, freshly ground salt & pepper and cooking oil .
There is free unlimited Wifi (subject to rural speed and availability) and DVD-player with a selection of DVD's, books and board games for rainy days to enjoy.

Services
We ask for a minimum stay of two nights especially during high season. The rate per night varies between NZD200.00 and NZD270.00 per night for two people, depending on season. We guarantee the cheapest price if you book directly with us and offer a discount if you stay for seven nights or longer.
Our property is family friendly, we have a big trampoline, a swing, a flying fox and many toys our son Levon (13yo) is happy to share. Children up to 2yo stay for free in their parents bed or we can put up a baby cot or an extra bed for a surcharge for a child up to 12yo. We also have a high chair and children plates and cutlery available, please inquire on demand.
Guest are welcome to explore the garden, the orchard and have a swim in the salt/mineral water pool. Meet our friendly animals - the two ponies, two Kune Kune pigs, the chickens, the ducks, our dog Jet and Lizzy the cat.
Depending on the season, we have fresh fruit available in our little shop called Bio Base.
